Particulars:

Stature: At maturity, Connemara ponies typically stand between 128cm to 148cm.

Coat Colours: Grey, black, bay, brown, dun, occasionally interwoven with roan, chestnut, palomino, as well as dark- and blue-eyed cream variations.

Physique: Characterised by a compact, well-proportioned build, Connemaras boast ample depth, substance, and generous heart room. Their stature, supported by sturdy legs, allows them to cover ground with remarkable agility and poise.

Head: The Connemara pony possesses a well-proportioned head of medium length, featuring a pleasing width between its large, gentle eyes. Ears are characteristic of the pony, accompanied by a well-defined cheekbone and a relatively deep yet refined jaw.

Front: The head is gracefully set onto the neck, with a moderate crest that should not be overly pronounced. The neck itself is ideally positioned, not too low, complemented by a well-angled shoulder that allows for a generous length of rein.

Body: With a deep chest and a robust back, the Connemara pony boasts a well-rounded physique. While some length in the body is acceptable, it should be well-ribbed and supported by strong loins.

Limbs: Forelimbs exhibit both length and strength, characterised by well-defined knees and short, sturdy cannons measuring between 18 to 21 centimetres in flat bone width. Elbows should move freely, while pasterns are of moderate length, leading to well-shaped, medium-sized, and durable hooves.

Hind-quarters: Marked by strength and muscle, the hind-quarters of the Connemara pony feature a balanced length, alongside well-developed second thighs (gaskin) and sturdy, low-set hocks.
