Last week marked a very special week in the Connemara pony calendar where thousands descended on the town of Clifden for the annual and very successful Connemara Pony Show – Clifden and our sales. Other exciting events took place in the town over the course of the week such as the Win A Home In Clifden draw driven by the Connemara Chamber which led to an amazing atmosphere throughout the town all week.
Some of the key callouts from our sale are listed below:
Top price of €15,500 versus €11,000 in 2024
80% clearance rate
92 sales were online (21%)
11/20 of the top prices were in excess of €10,000
As always, there was a plethora of international buyers, further proving the demand for Connemara ponies internationally. Here is a breakdown of some of the countries ponies were sold to:
112 ponies sold to the UK
32 ponies sold to the Benelux region
24 ponies sold to Spain
14 ponies sold to France
6 ponies sold to the Czech Republic
4 ponies sold to Germany
3 ponies sold to the USA
1 pony sold to Denmark
