Connemara Pony Sales Case Study: Fanta Cross

At Connemara Pony Sales we pride ourselves on the quality of pony that passes through our sales ring. Fanta Cross 2015 grey mare was bought in 2018 by Carol Henley and Fiona o Dwyer, who were at the Connemara Pony Sales in Clifden. The grey mare was relatively unhandled but when the gate opened to let her out she only put one foot on the weigh bridge as such was her stride. Both Carol and Fiona looked at each other and decided to bid. Fanta Cross was sold for 1100 euro.

Fiona broke her and brought her on slowly and during covid as a 5 yr old the team decided to give her to their friends daughter Claire o Ryan who started to do some eventing with her. Within 2 years she was and is competing at 2 star level. Fanta Cross was the youngest pony in the 2 star at Millstreet International 2022. She was then selected along with Claire’s other pony to represent Ireland at the European Eventing championships in Poland al though due to her age they brought the older pony and she was the reserve.

Massive congratulations to all of the team involved, it goes without saying that the future is bright for Fanta Cross.
