Connemara Pony Sales Case Study: Millies Cove

Millies Cove was purchased at the Connemara Pony Sales as a yearling by Kildalton College and was broken before being sold to her current owner in the UK. She was bred in Tuam by John Moggon and was sired by Caherlistrane Bay owned by Derek Delapp and her dame is by Robe Island Boy. She has since gone on to compete at the Voltaire BE90 grassroots Championships held at badminton horse trials, 2023 – completed clear cross country. She qualified for NAF BE80 grassroots Championships to be held at the Bramham International horse trials 2023. She qualified ACE arena eventing (at 90 & 1m) champs ‘23.


She also qualified for the Harry Hall British eventing (90 & 1m) Championships ‘23 along with also qualifying for the NPS Scottish & English summer champs ‘21, ‘22 & 23 in flat & WH.

She placed 10th at the Scottish BE90 Championships, 2022, held at Blair International horse trials and she has had numerous wins & placings in working hunter classes, flat showing, British dressage, British evening & arena eventing.

Connemara Pony Sales Case Study: Lough Derg Star & Owens Shadow

Lough Derg Star was bought at the Connemara Pony Sales in February 2022 by Zoe Price who has been riding him and recently placed 6th in the Hoys qualifier at the Northern Ireland Festival.

Owen’s Shadow was bought at the Connemara Pony Sales in October 21 as an unbroken three year old. He was produced by Zoe’s daughter Holly from start to finish and is now five year’s old and jumping 1.10. Massive congratulations to Zoe and Holly on their success to date, wishing them all of the best moving forward.

Don’t forget our next three day sale commences on Friday May 19th and contains over 600 lots. No doubt there will many more superstars like Owen’s Shadow and Lough Derg Star available to purchase throughout the entire weekend.

Entries for our May sale will officially close on Friday April 21st however please note that subject to entries reaching capacity there is a chance that it may close sooner so if you plan on entering your pony we would strongly advise to do this ASAP to avoid disappointment.
