Derryinver Rocky a Connemara Pony Sales Success Story

Derryinver Rocky a Connemara gelding was bred by Brid and John Heanue out of their mare Derrylough Misty(Dunlewey Rigamarole) and sired by Starsky. He was purchased at the Connemara Pony Sales in Clifden by Kieran Egan and later sold and further produced in the UK by the Bradburne’s and has gone to achieve so much in such a short space of time.

Derryinver Rocky is a prolific winner of British show jumping 148cm classes, the winner of the Young Pony class at Bolesworth and always extremely competitive in the second rounds resulting in winning the Pony Newcomers Final at Horse of the Year Show in 2021.  He consistently won and was placed in all the qualifiers including the Foxhunter and JC classes.  Still a novice he went on to qualify and jump a clear round at Olympia in the big 148cm final.  He would be equally suitable for pony eventing which is what his purpose was to be until he ended up in a show jumping family and went on to win so many classes.  Sister Katie took over from Thomas Bradburne and he showed how fast he was winning at most of the Premier shows across the year.  He won at Pony of the Year show with an exceptionally fast clear round in the jump off.  Asides from this he is the easiest and kindest of  ponies.  A delight to own and the perfect child’s pony.
