Connemara Pony Sales Graduate Success Story: Icefyer Dansant (“Toibín”)

Icefyer Dansant, by Totem du Martray out of Snow Line D’Albran (Ice and Fire D’Albran), was purchased by Beatrice Hughes from the Connemara Pony Sales as a three-year-old at the May Sale in 2021. Since then, he has developed into an outstanding example of the modern performance Connemara, competing successfully in performance classes, working hunter, eventing, and show jumping.

During his career, Toibín qualified for the Royal Dublin Horse Show, further showcasing his quality and versatility at one of Ireland’s most prestigious equestrian events.

In September, Toibín was sent to Gail McKeown (@straightforwardhorsesandponies) in Sligo, where he continued to demonstrate his exceptional talent and remarkable temperament. Ridden by Gail’s seven-year-old daughter, Neveah, he famously jumped the 148cm 90cm track at Cavan, highlighting the honesty, confidence, and rideability that have made him such a special pony.

Throughout his career, Toibín has earned a reputation as the quintessential performance Connemara—combining athleticism, versatility, and an outstanding temperament. He is the type of pony every family hopes to find: one capable of helping a young rider achieve success across a range of disciplines while giving parents complete confidence in his kindness, reliability, and safe nature.

Now partnered with his new owner, Charlotte Nelson, Toibín has already made an exciting start to the next chapter of his career. At their very first outing together, the pair secured their Equitation Golden Ticket, earning qualification for the Royal Dublin Horse Show and marking the beginning of what promises to be a successful partnership.
